RUBIES Collaborations
RUBIES is proud to actively collaborate with educational institutions, community groups, independent businesses, and organizations dedicated to fostering inclusivity, sustainability, and community spirit. Here are some collaborations we're excited to share:
🌈 Pre-Trans March Pride Party
Every year, RUBIES proudly hosts a festive Pre-Trans March Pride Party, bringing families and supporters together ahead of Toronto's annual Trans March. Our 2023 celebration gathered over 150 community members in a vibrant evening of pizza, circus performances by SoCirc, face painting, and joyful connection. Held in a beautiful park close to the march route, this event highlighted our commitment to community spirit, visibility, and celebration of trans pride.
Toronto Metropolitan University – Gender-Free Swim Program
We partnered with Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) to support their Gender-Free Swim Program, creating inclusive, affirming, and safe spaces for all participants. Our donation of RUBIES swimwear to TMU students ensures everyone can participate comfortably, affirming their gender identity without barriers.
Oberlin College – Clothing Swap Event
Located in Ohio, Oberlin College has been a trailblazer in promoting diversity and inclusion since its founding in 1833. In collaboration with Oberlin, RUBIES donated to an impactful clothing swap event. This heartwarming initiative promoted sustainability, community bonding, and provided essential access to gender-affirming clothing for students and community members alike.
Queer Skate Night – International Women’s Day at Skateloft
RUBIES proudly supported a vibrant International Women's Day celebration at Skateloft in Toronto. We donated a number of pairs of our Serena Shortly Shorts.
Toronto Purple Fins – Gender-Free Market Clothing Donation
RUBIES proudly supported Toronto Purple Fins, an inclusive swim club dedicated to creating safe, affirming aquatic spaces for trans, non-binary, and gender-diverse individuals. We donated RUBIES swimwear and clothing items during a Gender-Free Market they organized. This empowering event was designed to provide community members free access to affirming swimwear and clothing in a supportive, judgment-free environment.
